Do you remember when you were a kid and your parents would “hide” your Christmas presents on top of a bookshelf? How the gift would taunt you, tease you—you knew it was yours yet it was just out of reach? You would grab a chair and stand on your tiptoes, tasting the delight of opening the present, of owning it, calling it your own—and even with the chair you would be just too short to reach it. The pain of knowing that there was something great waiting for you, but you had to have patience and wait for its exquisite feel in your hands, for the joy of finally having what you’ve wanted for so long? I remember it all too well.
